Topic: Learning Communities in the Two-Year College

Question: What are “learning communities” in two-year colleges?

Answer: Writing course paired with a course from another discipline.

Problem: The writing course becomes a mere “service course” rather than an equal partner with the teacher from the other discipline.

Comment: Working with a partner in teaching is like marriage: fraught with problems, but capable of great rewards and results. RayS.
